Nail Polish haul (China Glaze, OPI & MAC)

Throughout November and December I had a bit of an obsession with Nail Polish. I literally couldn't get enough. If I had more money I would have probably bought every bottle on Earth. I go through these phases of buying lots of one item quite frequently but this is the first time I've done it with Nail Polish, nomally it's with tights. Anyway here's a quick round up of what I bought. I apologise in advance for some of the pictures, I've done this at completely the wrong time of day and the glare from my camera flash combined with artificial light does not look nice.

What's in my December 2012 Glossybox?

So, after learning of the demise of the She Said Beauty box this month I figured I'd find a new monthly service to sign up to. She Said Beauty promoted Joliebox as their preferred partner and offered us free gifts if we signed up to them. Now, while that sounds like a good deal initially, I wasn't impressed. The gift that was offered was a lipgloss, a palette from a brand called 'So Susan' and a mini nail polish. These were all items Joliebox subscribers had previously received. The lipgloss and nail polish were from brands I hadn't really heard of and quite frankly I don't want to be 'So Susan' as she sounds like a 50-something housewife (no offence if you're called Susan, I just think it's a terrible brand name) so these gifts didn't really entice me into subscribing. That, coupled with the fact every single Joliebox review I've seen has been unremarkable put me off subscribing to them. Not to mention that in the December Joliebox they sent out a Bellapierre shimmer powder and two sachets of a Dr. Duve product, both of which I'd received in a She Said Beauty box. I don't know, it's kind of like they're recycling samples.

What's in my December She Said Beauty box? First impressions

So December has rolled around again and my She Said Beauty box got delivered this morning. I was definitely excited as I'd already looked at the sneak preview and some of these products looked really interesting. So, I opened up my box and here's what I got!

November She Said Beauty box - first impressions

Firstly, I apologise for how late this is. I've been pretty busy with university related stuff and it's also been my birthday. Sorry!

I've been subscribed to She Said Beauty since April of this year. To me it feels like a little present each month and I really love presents. I chose She Said Beauty as it seemed to be the most consistent in providing  products that I'd be interested in using and with the exception of one box it has confirmed that I made the right decision. Here are my first impressions on the November box.

October haul (MAC, Urban Decay, Topshop, Forever 21 and more)

So it's now November and I decided I'd do a haul post on what I bought during October. I love reading other people's hauls and seeing what they've bought so I thought I'd have a go at doing my own. These are my bigger purchases from the month, enjoy!

I've got straight edge! Kind of...‏

Baggy jeans, band t-shirts, big black hoodies and bangles up to my elbows. That was my general appearance when I was eleven years old. I'd always been somewhat different from other girls. Growing up, when all the other kids around me were getting baby dolls that did all but defecate, I played alone with my humble model post office. As I got older I got into wrestling and even traded video recordings of the pay per views with a fellow eight year old sports entertainment enthusiast after school. Of course, he was male. None of my female friends were as interested in seeing grown men get hit with foil dustbin lids as I was. I think wrestling was what sparked my interest in alternative music, many wrestlers had themes that were quite rock-based and I enjoyed them. After listening to a number of generic metal bands whose shirts are always available in your local HMV I started to delve a bit deeper into the alternative scene and that was when I found what I'd been waiting to hear, punk.

The plague of praise.

Even as a child I had the urge to write. My mum still has pieces of paper with my name scribbled across them from when I was a kid and begging her to let me play with pens. In school I always enjoyed creative writing the most so this influenced my decision to take English language in college. Unfortunately the course wasn't what I expected and I spent more time analysing the scrawlings of three year olds than I did actually writing. Outside of the education world I tried to keep up with my writing. I've attempted numerous times to start a diary yet they always seem to turn out the same, three entries in a row and then a six month gap before anything else. I've written a few articles too but nothing huge. The idea of a blog seemed ideal. It could be a combination of a diary and a collection of articles. I didn't want to create a blog with a particular theme because being restricted to only write about one thing makes me not want to write at all.
